Dynamics 365 Copilot_

While in most cases, people refer to the AI embedded in Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 when they talk about Copilot, there are multiple types of Copilot. Microsoft has invested in AI, leading to a suite of innovative solutions.  

Other Copilots include:  

• Windows Copilot – centralised AI support within the Windows platform.  

• Sales Copilot – designed for Sales teams to efficiently manage their pipeline and close deals.  

• Microsoft 365 Copilot – integrates with Microsoft 365 tools like Teams and Outlook for centralised insights.  

• Security Copilot – secures your systems and protects data with the power of AI.  

• GitHub Copilot – supports developers in the completion and quality control of code.  

• Power Platform Copilot – assists with building apps within the Power Platform.  

• Copilot for Microsoft Fabric – supports the creation of data flows within Power BI.

If you want to gain the power of Dynamics 365 Copilot, there’s a few things you need. 

Firstly, you need Dynamics 365. Dependent on the modules you have, you’ll be able to benefit from the use cases listed above. We also recommend keeping up to date with Microsoft’s latest announcements for the applications you use, as they’re always adding greater Copilot functionality! 

Next, check your Dynamics 365 licence includes access to Copilot. If not, you’ll need to upgrade it. Your administrator will also need to enable Copilot for any relevant user. 

If you already have a Dynamics 365 license, Copilot is included as part of your Dynamics licensing at no extra cost. Please note, you’ll only be able to use Copilot in the Dynamics 365 modules you have. 

Other Copilots, such as GitHub Copilot, Copilot for Security and Sales Copilot, will require different licences, so we recommend checking Microsoft’s website for pricing information.  

Yes, there is. However, it only offers a small sample of the functionality available in Copilot. It won’t integrate with your Dynamics 365 solutions, but it can give you a brief glimpse at what AI can do.  

The free version is more like a chatbot you can ask natural-language questions to get prompt responses. It’s a great way to experiment with Copilot and learn more about AI until you’re ready to invest in a licence.
