Why should businesses move to the Cloud?

Moving to the Cloud and introducing mobility to businesses has enabled cost savings and innovative business solutions in recent years. The number of new startups increased by 4.6% in 2015 and with 608,100 new registered businesses compared to 581,173 the previous year (Tech City News). The original “Mobile First Cloud First” vision set out by Microsoft in 2014 has since introduced more opportunities and challenges and they are now exploring a more “productivity” “intelligence” and “security” focussed vision. The Secure Productive Enterprise E5 that was recently launched helps achieve this vision  and we explore its capabilities later in this post.

Why do most startups use the SaaS model?

To keep costs down, startups usually challenge the norm, and emerge with more agile and cheaper cloud solution and services. By focusing their business operations on a SaaS (Software as a Service) model they own no infrastructure or have to allow or infrastructure maintenance costs.

However, with the ever-changing behaviour and preferences of their customers, more established businesses have to reinvent themselves to remain seen as a major player in the marketplace and that’s where the Cloud starts to play a big part.

SaaS products such as Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite and Windows 10 are appealing to both startups and more mature businesses for both cost efficiency and increased productivity reasons. The majority of larger businesses need enhanced versions of the above to meet the needs of their ever growing business and that where the Secure Productive Enterprise packages come in useful.

Microsoft’s Secure Productive Enterprise E3/E5 Packages
